2026 A1LabArts Bug Show
Opening August 4th
It’s summertime! And what comes naturally with summer? BUGS! What are we doing about it? We’re having the BUG SHOW at Ijams Nature Center in August! We are inviting your art involving bugs – big or little, scary or pretty, real or imaginary – or their biology or ecology, or even just ideas or questions inspired by bugs!
The show will be in the Ijams Visitor Center hallway gallery, where we have had a number of shows – including the Owl Show last year and the Crow Show before that. The building is open to the public almost every day of the year and receives a lot of visitors.
We are currently taking submissions for the show - see below for details on submission guidelines:

SALES:
Ijams handles sales and takes a 30% commission, which goes to help support Ijams programs. A1 will not take a commission. Modestly priced pieces tend to sell better at Ijams. We had a fair amount of sales at Ijams from our Owl Show and Crow Show.
SUBMISSION FORM: {pending}
- Art should of course be inspired by or related to bugs somehow, but need not be representational.
- Wall-mounted art (2D or close to it) only please (the Ijams hallway gallery does not have room for floor pieces) except for 3D art that can be suspended from the rafters.
- May be in any media.
- Small is beautiful.
- Must be family friendly.
- Prints are ok.
- Need not be new work.
