Current and upcoming events
We are lining up 2026 events. Here is what we have so far.
2026 Annual members' meeting and potluck - Sunday, January 18, 2026 1:30 to 3;30 Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church, 2931 Kingston PIke, Knoxville. Save the date -- more info here soon. We hope to have good food and community, have some creative fun, do a little A1LabArts, Inc. official business, and discuss events of the past and upcoming year. If you want to go ahead and pay your annual dues to become a 2026 member, you can do so at https://www.a1labarts.com/join-a1labarts.html
December 19 2025 to February 15, 2026. A1 members group show at Knoxville Museum of Art, Kramer Gallery on KMA ground floor. Reception on February 1, 2026 from 2 to 4 pm. The Kramer Gallery is a beautiful, well-lighted space that really makes art look great, can accommodate both 2d and 3d work, and comes complete with a live KMA watchperson. At our member meeting in January, we went through a Dada-esque process by which members voted on "theme" words for the show, and out of many words proposed the one that got the most votes was "Trashformation."
August 2026 A1 show at Ijams Nature Center hallway gallery. Details to be announced.
On occasion: We expect to continue having more “Surreal Salon” and "Radial Attention" events from time to time. These are not exhibits – Surreal Salons are gatherings for people to come together for discussion, refreshments, and creative games or exercises such as Exquisite Corpse. Radical Attention events are for us to practice paying attention: quietly observing one artwork for 15 minutes and then discussing it.
